Haute Joaillerie Romana
The Maison
A Bold Roman Legacy Born in 1976
In 1976, Marina Bulgari undertook a profound act of creative independence. Renouncing her established place within Rome’s foremost high jewelry dynasty, she embarked on an audacious, singular voyage to articulate an unapologetically modern architectural vocabulary. Her vision rejected the rigid conventions of post-war adornment in favor of sensual dynamism, bold geometric play, and technical audacity.
Her creations debuted as revolutionary wearable sculptures: articulated modular chokers that curved fluidly against the collarbone, engineered hinge systems concealed within gleaming yellow gold, and the pioneering introduction of the “Castagna cut”—a generous, chestnut-shaped cabochon that amplified the saturated vibrancy of rare rubellite tourmalines, sapphires, and citrines.
Marina Bulgari’s creations quickly evolved into the sovereign armour of the world’s most decisive women. Icons of modern cultural mythology—from Elizabeth Taylor and Grace Kelly to Sophia Loren—embraced her radiant geometries as profound manifestations of personal sovereignty rather than mere ornamentation.

Guy Bedarida
Chairman & Creative Director
Brought up between Paris and the historic quarters of Rome, Guy Bedarida was steeped in classical art history and ancient gemmological lore from childhood. His creative journey commenced on the revered cobblestones of Place Vendôme, creating bespoke high jewelry masterpieces for Boucheron, before being appointed head designer for Van Cleef & Arpels in New York City.
During his illustrious tenure as Creative Director of John Hardy, Bedarida orchestrated the seminal Naga and Cinta high jewelry collections, proving that ancient artisanal casting could coalesce seamlessly with modern global luxury.
Drawn by an unquenchable passion for colored gemstones, Bedarida subsequently established a working residency in Bangkok—the vibrating epicenter of the world’s rare ruby and sapphire trade. Today, he honors Marina Bulgari’s direct legacy, transmuting her archival Roman audacities into a dazzling contemporary renaissance.

Four Decades of High Jewelry Direction
Continuum
“A dialogue that naturally evolved beyond friendship into a shared vision.”
The genesis of this transcendent collaboration unfolded during an exclusive Marina B trunk show in Hong Kong. There, over an exchange of archival gouache sketches and lapidary secrets, Dr. Victoria and Guy Bedarida uncovered a rare philosophical symmetry: a mutual reverence for structural integrity, Roman grandeur, and the spiritual aura of precious stones. What emerged was a shared imperative to anchor Marina B’s permanent salon in Southeast Asia.
